Vaccinated? Sam Adams will buy you a beer

Are you vaccinated? If you tweet or instagram a picture of your vaccination sticker or your bandaid, Sam Adams will CashApp you $7 to buy a beer and leave a tip. Just leave a #shotforsam hashtag and tag @samueladamsbeer.

On the heels of Krispy Kreme’s offer for a free donut per day (until May 21st) for those vaccinated, Sam Adams has released a campaign to reward vaccinated folks with a beer.

They ask that you NOT post your vaccine card. Instead, they are looking for a picture of your sticker or bandaid. (If you are already vaccinated, I’m sure they wouldn’t mind you re-enacting it).

They are receiving a lot of requests and are a bit backed up, so be patient with them.

Here are the terms and conditions from the Sam Adams Free Beer Offer page:

  1. Thx Jeanne! I will give it a try. BTW – I can’t wait to start traveling again, to say the least!

I’m happy to be blogging again! I’m happy to talk more about why I stopped for a while (and why I started again) but that’s probably better for a private message than a blog comment šŸ™‚

  3. I wonder what the women who used Thalidomide got for an incentive? Enjoy your beer!

I’m not pregnant so the only risk I’m taking is my own–and I’m happy to do so to help save lives

  4. Hi Vivian
Your comment is a cheap shot and illustrates ignorance of medical treatment and prevention. Like other vaccines, the incentive is protection from a life-threatening illness. in this case COVID-19. It also has been shown to reduce the spread and also if you still get it (a v small percentage), reduction in severity. Almost a billion vaccinations have been given wide, following some of the largest clinical trials ever conducted. Exceedingly, they have been shown to be safer to be vaccinated than to not be!

The fact that corporate partners are encouraging people to protect themselves AND others is a good civic-minded initiative.

It’s a false equivalency to suggest there is anything similar to what happened with pregnant women who used thalidomide to reduce morning sickness. Your comment tells more about your ignorance and anti-science stance than the fact Sam Adams is encouraging people to get vaccinated, esp since it is now available for all adults in the US.

  5. I would be much more motivated to vaccinate if they told me I wouldn’t have to wear a useless mask anymore if I was. But, alas, nope. You can have a beer, but make sure your that mask is pulled tight over your mouth after every swig. lol. Weird how nothing changes after you’re vaccinated. Travel is still frowned upon, masks are still mandated, social distancing…etc. Because of course the vaccine “isn’t 100% effective!!!” (as if there was ever a vaccine that was 100% effective for anything). And of course those evil “variants!!”. This will never end.

I’m not sure what it is like in your state, but I’m in NC, and due to the rate at which we’ve been vaccinated, we are lifting restrictions based on the percentage vaccinated. Our governor has said once we hit the next set of target numbers, the mask rules will be lifted in the whole state. Almost all the other restrictions are being phased out right now, so while it’s state by state, it’s making a difference here.
