Amazon has these buttons called “Dash Buttons” where you can place them in strategic areas and tap them once you are out of an item. It’ll automatically re-order you the item.
You can place some in the closet to signal when you are out of paper towels or toilet paper, or even stick one on your garbage can to hit when you are out of trash bags.
I was involved with Dash buttons when they were just a prototype (through Kickstarter) and while I’ll resist geeking out too much, this technology has evolved from a system originally intended to help roommates remember to do chores (and learn what things haven’t been done).
Amazon charges $4.99 for them but offers a $4.99 credit off your first purchase. This is to prevent people from just ordering them willy-nilly. So essentially they are “free” as long as you use them.
Today, Amazon has a sale on the dash buttons. They are currently $0.99 but still offer the $4.99 credit off your order.
So essentially, if you pick up a dash button for each of your favorite items, you can have $4 off each of them.
