Walmart.com has just announced that everyone gets free two-day shipping–a benefit you previously had to pay $49.99 a year for.
I was a paid subscriber to this service (in addition to Amazon Prime) because the savings I received by buying some products on Walmart far exceeded the cost of the service. Â And now I see a $49.99 refund pending o/
I used Walmart’s shipping for heavy household products like laundry detergent, cleaners, etc., plus used to it to capitalized on 100% cashback Walmart deals through TopCashBack.
But now I don’t even have to convince you of the benefit because it’s free.
A few Ts&Cs quoted from Walmart:
- Free 2-Day Shipping will be available on eligible orders over $35.
- Millions of items on Walmart.com are eligible for Free 2-Day Shipping including household essentials such as pantry items, cleaning supplies and baby necessities, top electronics and toys.
- Eligible items will be noted with a 2-day shipping logo.
As I alluded to before, previous customers will receive a refund of 100% of the service cost. Â I’ve had mine for a while and got the full refund back. Â (I do find it funny that they say, you will receive a refund within 30 days or sooner. Â Sooner than “within 30 days” is technically back in time!)
From the email I received:
Earlier today, we sent an email announcing how excited we are about our new Free 2-Day Shipping program. In that email we informed you that we would be issuing a full refund for all current ShippingPass subscriptions.
As a member of ShippingPass, you will be receiving a full refund for the amount you originally paid within 30 days — in many cases, even sooner. A subsequent email will be sent to you when your refund is initiated, and that will contain your refund amount and ShippingPass order number. The refund will appear as a statement credit to your original payment method.
Thank you for being a valued customer. We hope you enjoy the savings and convenience of Free 2-Day Shipping.
100% the result of them acquiring Jet.com since they have that same shipping policy.
