A First Look at the Hyatt Zilara Suites

The Hyatt Zilara is freshly open and I just had to get a look!

This all-suite property is adults only, and their rooms are definitely couple oriented.  I wasn’t able to get an upgraded suite with points or my suite upgrade certificate, but my room did not disappoint me.

If possible, get an ocean facing room.  The view was unbelievable, and the balcony has a table with chairs—perfect for an (included) room service breakfast.

This was the view on a rainy day.

Each room has a jetted whirl pool tub in the room.

There are seats inside the tub itself.

The bed is really soft and comfortable.

The room has an espresso machine, which I really appreciated.

The bathroom is larger than it looks in these pictures.  But be warned if you are planning to go here with someone you are not involved with!  There is a window from the bed into the shower.  Smile with tongue out

The room has a mini bar, which is included, and comes with a form for specific requests.  Only beer though in the mini bar (sadly for my beer-allergic self Winking smile )

There was a bottle of wine for us when we got to the room.  I can’t tell if that’s because I’m a diamond or if that’s common.  We had declined the diamond amenity.  It was basically a basket of granola bars.

The room was a great start to the trip!  Stay tuned for more details about the property and its restaurants.

  1. Can’t wait for the rest of the review. We are headed there next month with our adult kids. Was the resort busy? Why do you think as a Diamond (I am one also) you did not get some type of upgrade? Any suggestions for getting one?

It is fully checked in but does not feel full other than having trouble getting reservations (we did for the end of our trip and the non-reservation restaurants so far have been fantastic!)

We are in an ocean facing room on a top floor, plus we get preferred access, which means we can go to Chef’s Plate and a few other small perks not included in the regular room rate.

It does appear that people pay for the really nice suites so they have sold out here. We have a view from both sides of the room though, so we are really happy with what they upgraded us to. We can watch the sun rise from the balcony and set from our door.

  2. Was this the standard junior suite?

    • Jeanne Marie Hoffman

It is standard size but ocean facing and a higher floor, which makes it considered premium. So we have access to Chef’s Plate restaurant, but this is the basic room shape/size.

  3. Do you know/think the suite award is worth the extra 15k points a night. I’m trying to find somewhere I can really pamper my wife…thx!

Everything at the Zilara is a suite. I was trying to get the premium suite with points when I went, but couldn’t pull it off. This is sufficient though! Free room service included in all rooms and feels pampering. They bring fresh bath salts for the jacuzzi each night and light candles. Very romantic.

  4. Nice to see a close getaway property. The all inclusiveness on points is even more interesting. Please make sure to include the details on the points cost in the next post for readers who don’t know the details on Hyatt redemptions.
