In the world of things I never knew I wanted to do so badly up until this moment, you can fly a pretend Pan Am 747 First Class flight for $300 in Hollywood, California.
For $300, visitors are treated to the First Class cabin on the upper deck of the plane. Flight attendants dressed in 1970’s Pan Am uniforms are on hand to greet guests, and will be serving dinner on authentic Pan Am china, linens, and glassware. After dinner, guests will be able to view other airline memorabilia and film production sets.
I don’t just want to do this–I am in uneasy-until-I-can-figure-out-how-to-swing-this mode.
If anyone wanted to buy me a 3/4ths birthday present, I wouldn’t mind this.
While the plane doesn’t actually fly, if you have enough cocktails, it could almost simulate that.
OMG… this is now on my MUST DO IMMEDIATELY list. Thank you for the power of suggestion. I may have to pick your brain about this at Bacon next weekend!
I think it would be much cooler if it actually flew somewhere, even just in a circle. Seems like a pretty steep cost for a meal and drinks in some studio.
I would like to contact A, Toth, I have old Pan-Am pictures and letters from Pres. Tripp to old employee who worked for Pan-Am for 30 yrs. Also wing pins and a envelope from 1st mail flight from Cuba to Florida. Also lots of info.
