I’ve had the pleasure of spending a lot of time in Fayetteville, North Carolina lately. One of my most adventurous days involved checking out Dirtbag Ale’s Farmer Market (taking place at their brewery every Sunday).
I kicked off the day with Yoga at the Market. It’s a good way to feel like I did something healthy before tasting beer.
I “recovered” from my workout by getting a beer sampler.
Their selection is so big, I was able to find multiple beer options that were low in hops (I have a mild allergy).
The sour ale was my favorite.
I polished it off with brunch at Napkin. Napkin is a restaurant on site that uses the morning to source ingredients from the Farmer’s Market there. They build the menu on the fly!
I had a pork-free version of the dish, so I’ll share a photo of one of my fellow diner’s food. She had a scotch egg with egg-topped potatoes and shrimp & grits. (I had a similar meal, sans the scotch egg).
While dining, I temporarily acquired a small kitten.
And the market itself was filled with stands from local farms and artisans. I picked up a bunch of veggies, some fresh eggs, and a couple of delicious smelling candles.
Dirtbag’s Farmer’s Market is every Sunday from 10am-5pm. Yoga is at 10am there. And Napkins hosts brunch from 12-2. They also have a regular menu for lunch and dinner.
As part of my participation in #FayFunDay, my beer flight and brunch were free.
