Disclosure: I don’t really stay at Marriotts. It isn’t anything against them. We just never really built up any rapport between us, and by the time I got to know them, I already had other hotel chains. I hope you understand, Marriott. It’s not you, it’s me. And Hyatt.
I think the marketing guy was over medicated when they came up with this promotion. I get 500 bonus miles for each $100 gift card and 1000 bonus miles for each $250 gift card. So my choice is two $100 gift cards for 1000 points or a $250 card for 1000 points? =)
Yes, there was something like this with Hyatt once too where I ended up paying for a $300 hotel stay with $25 gift certs (sorry guys!) because it made more sense to get $25 increments.
