Amazon offers a new-ish product on their site called Amazon Home Services. Â It connects customers to service providers who can do a variety of tasks at their home–air duct cleaning, home cleaning, HVAC tune ups, and more. Â This also includes things such as in-home guitar lessons.
From Amazon’s website, all service providers are:
Vetted
We only invite providers who have a strong track record of service quality. We screen through a combination of media searches, online interviews, and reference checks.Background-checked
We conduct comprehensive business background checks and require each provider you work with to pass a 6-point criminal background check.
Licensed and insured
All providers are required to maintain any necessary insurance and trade licenses.Proven Performers
Providers must meet ongoing performance targets including responsiveness, quality, and ratings.
In addition to this, I noticed that all the providers I’ve scrolled through are highly rated, which means they are quick to get rid of people who are not doing well ratings-wise.
Today, I was looking for a home cleaner, and came across a deal for $30 off the use of their service when you book a service totaling $99 or more.
Here are the terms and conditions on that:
Offer limited to first-time purchase of a service on Amazon.com.
Offer must be purchased from the service detail page with promotional messaging present.
Offer limited to eligible services that are individually priced at $99 or more. See all eligible services below.
Customer must complete check out with the qualifying service by October 31, 2016, and the service must be scheduled and completed within 30 days of purchase.
Savings will be credited to the payment method used to purchase the service within 2 business days after the service has been completed and payment has been processed. Customers’ banks may impose an additional delay on the distribution of these funds.
The deal has put me into a personal quandary.  It is only good on your first purchase.  The home cleaners I want to book are coming up as $95.50, $3.50 short of the deal.  If I book them, I won’t be able to ever use this deal.  If I add an hour to make the cost go over, the savings are moot.
C’est la vie.
Still, overall I think this is a good deal, and I am looking around on the site for solutions to projects I have been putting off–just in case.
