A great deal has appeared! Â You can fly to London, England from San Francisco, CA for only $443 on United if you don’t mind Basic Economy. Â If you prefer Regular Economy, the fare jumps almost by $200 up to $623.
United’s Basic Economy isn’t terrible. Â According to the Flight Deal:
United and its partners Air Canada, Austrian, Lufthansa and Swiss Air also have a $443 fare, but that is a Basic Economy fare. There are slightly variations but the one common theme across all these airlines with European Basic Economy fares, you will pay $60 each way for ONE checked luggage, more for additional bags.
United’s version of Basic Economy for European travel includes:
-
Advance seat assignment
-
One normal size carry-on plus one personal item
As always, the Flight Deal has the details.
I subscribe to the Flight Deals tweets and check them pretty often.
I can jump on fares when there’s still lots of availability and I don’t miss out on the deals I want to take advantage of.
I’ve shared my process of “subscribing†to great fares.
This process involves signing up for twitter.  Even if you won’t be an active user of twitter, it’s a good idea to have an account to take advantage of deals on contests in general.
You can see my post on this here.
I recommend following them even if you aren’t in those areas because they are gateway cities. There’s a lot of good international deals–worth the effort flying out to the gateway.
