Over four weeks ago, my husband got his status packet for his Silver Preferred Status. Â I eagerly awaited my packet for Chairman’s Preferred, but didn’t get anything for a few days. Â When I finally phoned up US Airways, they just confirmed that mine wasn’t lost in the mail.
Why would I want my actual card?
One of the benefits of being part of an alliance is getting perks with the other airlines.  This is true for oneworld, and with my Emerald Status I get:
- Access to more than 600 airport lounges (with one guest) when travelling internationally, including premium First Class, Business Class and frequent flyer lounges, regardless of the class of service flown that day. For details about the oneworld lounge access policy, click here.  (from the oneworld website)
I haven’t ever flown internationally with oneworld status before, but when US Airways was part of Star Alliance, they always wanted to see just my card when I went into the lounge even if I had another way of proving my status.  I have no idea if this is true with oneworld.
But it was a moot point anyway–I wasn’t traveling internationally. Â I just feel anxious not knowing I have it yet. Â I could argue the anxiety is tied to the possibility of taking a last second international trip and not getting lounge access, but I’m embarrassed to admit it was tied to just not having a card yet.
For the other US Airways status holders–did you get your cards yet? Â What membership level are you? Â And if you got your cards, when did you get them?
I’m gold and I’m still waiting…
Gold. Got it yesterday.
got my chairmans 6 weeks ago my wife got her gold within a couple days of that.
