One of the interesting things about being in another country on the other side of the world is seeing the news unfold while it’s happening. Â Normally, this is a story that would pop up on my reader in the morning, but I heard about it as it was happening since I am currently in Auckland.
An Air New Zealand flight from Honolulu to Auckland had a flat tire in flight. Â Emergency vehicles gathered in preparation for the landing, but luckily, they were not needed.
An Air New Zealand flight has landed safely after earlier sparking a scare at Auckland International Airport.
Emergency services rushed to the airport shortly before 4.30pm after it was reported one of tyres on flight Air NZ 9 was flat.

A Fire Service spokesman earlier said eight fire crews had assembled at the airport awaiting the plane’s arrival.
The plane landed “without incident”.
Flight Aware shows a deviation in the plane’s course.
Flight Aware also shows that the plane landed 53 minutes late, but it took off 39 minutes late.
