When you hear “stunt plane,” you probably think of this:
But apparently, someone has ventured into the world of using wide-body planes as stunt planes. Â Namely, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
According to Popular Mechanics:
Last years for the 2015 Paris Air Show, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner decked out in Vietnam Airlines livery pulled a whole bunch of fun stunts, including a jaw-droppingly steep takeoff. This year Boeing’s back with another clipshow of 787 tricks, and while some of them are repeats, they are no less fun to watch.
This All Nippon Airways Dreamliner is prepping its routine for the 2016 Farnborough Airshow and I think my favorite part is that series of twists right around 1:10. Seat belts on everyone!
The clip they are referencing is here:
The video was released by Boeing as a promo for the 2016 Farnborough Airshow.
And for good measure, here’s the test flight for the 2015 Paris Air Show. Â Remember, these are trained professionals. Â Do not try this at home.
Okay, I suppose if you have access to a 787, you could technically try it at home. Â Because you have a freaking 787.
I checked out the 787 before it was cool when it was new.
We didn’t do any flips or stunts. Â Maybe that had to do with how many people were on the plane, but we’ll never know for sure.
F*cking amazing isn’t it!?!?!?
Damn straight!
