US Airways to Add Meals on Shorter Flights plus More Starting April 1st

No, this isn’t an April Fools joke! Â Long gone are the days of trying to fill up on raspberry fig bar snacks on a 3-hour flight.

From US Airways:

BeginningÂ April 1, 2014, you’ll notice some new inflight enhancements in First Class on domestic US Airways flights.

We’re offering our signature snack basket on flights 1 â€“ 2 hours in length
Lite Bites, a new snack basket including fresh fruit, breakfast cakes and finger sandwiches, will be offered on flightsÂ 2 â€“ 2:45Â hours long
Flights longer thanÂ 2:45Â hours will feature an updated menu of fresh meals

On B757- and B767-operated flights in Business Class, enjoy the new Samsung Galaxy Tabâ„¢ offering 60 movies, as well as a greater variety of television programs and audio selections. Plus, this spring on our international Business Class flights, tune out with new BoseÂ® QuietComfortÂ® 15 Acoustic Noise CancellingÂ® headphones. We’re also doubling the entertainment selections on our A330s to offer you more than 250 movies, 350 audio options and more.

I cannot explain how excited I am by this. Â The snack basket, while generous on my short up-and-down flights hasn’t quite cut it on really long routes. Â I have a 2-hour flight coming up on April 3rd and will report back!

Just flew from Autin to Phoenix & back last week I. First class, wish they had the expanded selection then. Chips & tiny biscotti wasn’t really worth much.
