I cannot even begin to accurately address the destruction that Harvey has left behind.

For those of us in the DC/NoVA area, there are ways we can help.  You can donate to the Red Cross by texting Harvey to 90999 to make a $10 donation.  Here are a few other ways you can donate financially to the cause.
In addition, many displaced families have pets and many pets have been separated from their families.  Those families and the rescuers who are taking care of the displaced pets are in desperate need of supplies for them.
Barrel Oak Winery–a winery relatively near to DC–has always taken up pet-related causes and this weekend is no different.  (Their name is even a play on words–BOW, as in bow-wow).  They are loading up a collection trailer with pet supplies outside of the winery in conjunction with the Washington Area Animal Adoption Group.  They will be collecting items now through Monday.

- – Small Animal Cages & Supplies (birds, hamsters, reptiles, etc.) –

The food cannot be opened, but the supplies may be gently used.
In exchange, they are giving anyone bringing donations free tastings of their wine or beer (your choice).
Barrel Oak/WAAAG are also looking for volunteers to help with the intake.
