Ever grow tired of having to carry your luggage around?
You’re apparently covered.
This is crazy. Â There’s a suitcase that will follow you through the airport automatically.
The suitcase, called “Hop!”, contains three receivers that can identify and triangulate different signals coming from the user’s mobile phone. A microcontroller then interprets these signals and calculates the phone’s position in relation to the suitcase. The same microcontroller also operates a continuous or caterpillar track system which moves the suitcase around, following the owner at a constant distance. If the Bluetooth signal is lost, the user is alerted by a phone vibration and the suitcase automatically locks itself.
For some reason, this seems like the type of thing that Homeland Security would just love.
What do you think? Â Natural innovation or total annoyance?Â
