A few nights ago, my phone rang at 2am.
It was Delta.
For those who don’t know it, I used to be loyal to Delta (Northwest) when I lived in Michigan. Â I just booked a ticket on Delta and cancelled within the one-day refundable window, opting to take a flight with US Airways instead.
Delta wanted to know how I was doing these days. Â And if that ticket I booked meant anything. Â And if I’d been thinking about SkyPesos and hubs in Atlanta and St. Paul.
Just kidding. Â They wanted to help me rebook my flight that they cancelled. Â On the itinerary I already cancelled earlier.
You see, Delta has an option where you can get them to call you back when you are on hold.
When my flight was cancelled, I called Delta and was given a wait time of “2-4 hours”. Â I selected the option to call me back. Â This was 10:20 AM.
I had called from my office phone  and realized I would miss the call back if I were in a meeting, so I called back a little later to use my universal number (it rings on multiple devices).  I was quoted 6 hours.
When I was leaving the office at 6pm, my office phone rang. Â It was Delta, almost eight hours after I selected the option to call me back. Â That’s when I cancelled my itinerary.
Then at 2am, Delta called me back on the number I called them on about fifteen minutes later than my first call. Â They called me back fifteen hours later.
Go home, Delta, yer drunk!
I received a 4 am delta call after being told “3-4 hours” at 4pm. Ultimately ended up calling Delta in Singapore later and they were able to sort out the reservation.
That’s what I did earlier in the day when my Delta flight was cancelled. Totally recommend it! http://boardingarea.com/deltapoints/2014/02/11/cant-reach-delta-air-lines-due-to-ice-storm-try-these-numbers-to-get-help/
I too got a 2am call from Delta although it had already been sorted out. Prefer to give them a pass on this one considering the chaos their systems have endured with the weather disruptions. Better late than never??
Does that Singapore or any other call center also works for other airlines like US airways, United etc. Also when you mentioned about universal number, are you talking about google number?
I have the Skype version, but very much like Google Number
I don’t know of any secret call center for US Airways :-/
