How These Airplanes Left Behind an Angel

There’s an image that’s been circulating around that’s a bit eerie and amazing.

Some people are saying it’s an angel in the sky.  Others think it is a fake CGI photo.  Neither is true, and the source of this angel is pretty cool.

The Russian Air Force group, Russikiye Vityazi, was responsible for this image in the sky.  Four stunt pilots flew in formation, setting off flares as they went to make this image.

That had to involve an unbelievable amount of coordination, and the results were gorgeous.

Here’s a video of them creating the angel.

They were celebrating the 22nd anniversary of the stunt group, plus the 75th anniversary of the air base in Kubinika, where this show took place, back in 2013.

That was the dramatic finale to their entire show, which can be seen here:
