A huge fight broke out on a Ryanair flight headed to Malta from Brussels, forcing an emergency landing.
According to RT.com, it started after an elderly woman was injured (and eventually resulted in a flight attendant being slapped):
“It started when an elderly woman moved seats and told me they’d hit her on the head. Then a huge fight broke out when two Belgian men tried to intervene,” he told the Sun. “They were attacking everyone around them.”
After seeing what happened, I’m pretty sure this wasn’t an alcohol-related incident for once. But you can judge for yourself, here’s the footage from a passenger on the flight:
The flight diverted to Pisa, where the fighters were arrested.
I’ve heard of fights in flight (for example, the fight between two celebrities in first class). This is the first brawl I can remember!
