This community has always been more than points, upgrades, and lounge access. Over the years, we’ve shared advice, opportunities, and sometimes even hard-earned lessons. But every once in a while, one of our own faces something that has nothing to do with travel and everything to do with real life.
Today I’m writing about Kelsey.
I’ve known Chris and Kelsey for more than a decade through the frequent flyer world. They are genuinely two of the kindest, most generous people I’ve met in this space. They’ve shown up for others again and again. Now it’s our turn to show up for them.

While on maternity leave and just days before she was scheduled to return to work, Kelsey suffered a serious brain bleed during a family trip in Phoenix. After an incredibly stressful delay in diagnosis, she was admitted to a top hospital where doctors were able to stop the bleeding and begin treatment.
Chris, their children Rowan and Isla, and both sets of grandparents are far from home, staying in a hotel while Kelsey receives care. In addition to the emotional toll, they are facing the practical realities of extended travel, childcare, medical bills, and everyday expenses that do not pause just because life has turned upside down.
A GoFundMe has been set up to support their family during this time. If you are able, I hope you’ll consider contributing, which you can do here.
Please donate if you can. Share the link if that feels right. And keep Chris, Kelsey, and their kids in your thoughts as they focus on healing and getting home.
Thank you for being the kind of community that shows up when it matters most.
