When a Waste of Points Feels Great

The winter on the East Coast just seemed to drag on and on endlessly.

A sudden snowstorm popped up on the radar last month.  It was supposed to hit the next day and I had enough of winter.  I felt like I was going out of my mind.

So I took 20,000 US Airways miles and flew to Fort Lauderdale.

And boy was it worth it.

Everyone talks about the right way to use miles and how to make sure you aren’t wasting them.  I think sometimes the actual reason for miles gets lost in calculating the financial worth of trips sometimes.

Fort Lauderdale Last Minute Trip

The sun.  Being able to have a mojito outdoors.  And did I mention the sun?

The sun setting was pretty nice too.

Because it was still warm enough to sit outdoors.

It was a silly trip.  It was a last-minute trip.  But it’s definitely going to go down in history as one of my happiest trips.  It was what I needed at that moment.  And I got to avoid the entire snowstorm while there.
