Flight Delayed, Crew Replaced, Due to Flight Attendant Fight

An EasyJet flight headed to Belfast from Gatwick was delayed yesterday after two flight attendants couldn’t stop arguing.

tongues sticking out fighting

According to CNN a passenger reported that:

…crew members were removed from the flight, then other crew members had a furtive cockpit powow, and an aggrieved captain tried to put on a brave face for the passengers even as the delay time crept toward an hour.

And EasyJet confirmed this to CNN:

“easyJet can confirm that flight EZY835 from London Gatwick to Belfast returned to stand to replace two crew members following a verbal disagreement between them. The safety and welfare of our passengers and crew is easyJet’s highest priority and in order to deliver this easyJet’s cabin crew need to be able to work as a team. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the resulting delay. The flight has now continued to Belfast.”

According to the passenger on board, the pilot was very candid about why they were delayed.

The passenger, Dan Lobb, is a radio and TV host, so the story about EasyJet circulated pretty easily.

He also reported overhearing the two crew members arguing over how you unwrap water bottles.

I’ve had servers I couldn’t schedule on the same day as each other for similar reasons.  They would squabble over straws or how much ice goes in a glass.

I don’t know anything about flight attendant scheduling.  I wonder if they have the ability to flag the same thing.
